Resume – Click below
My name’s Michael Frederick, some of you may also know me by Freddy.
I’m a recent Messiah College graduate with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
This is my blog, where I put just about everything and anything my brain won’t hold. I’m attempting to keep it mostly work related but I’m sure some other tidbits will seep through.
Currently I am…
… working as a Software Support Engineer for Mzinga, an aspiring Social Learning Company, utilizing various forms of social media and incorporating it into the e-learning environment.
I also spend a good deal of time doing website contract work, photography, and the occasional Photoshop project. The most “finished” of these are found in my portfolio and of course, this blog and my photoblog (Currently not updated – WTB more time).
Background (Once upon a time…):
I graduated in 04′ from Greater Latrobe Senior High School and from Messiah College in 08′ with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Through school, personal hobbies, contract work, and my day job, I have touched a little bit of everything in the field of computers. See the resume at the bottom for more information. If I don’t know it, I know where to find out about it.
I enjoy traveling, either with my family, on my own, or with friends. I have been to roughly 44 states, 13 countries, and 17 national/state parks. I am not multi-lingual but I enjoy studying other languages when time permits. I’ve studied two languages other then English (Spanish & Modern Greek) and know a handful of phrases in others (Chinese & Arabic).
I spent a great number of years competing in various sports at various levels. I played soccer for over a decade, ran cross-country for a couple of years, and have played volleyball for going on a decade as well. In 2008 I even won a national championship participating with Messiah’s Division II Club Volleyball team. I continue to run, play volleyball, and lift as much as possible.
