Holy crap, I think I’m experiencing real sound for the first time!

Price point these have got to be one of the best buys out there. Although just 2.1, they can easily fill a moderately sized room with excellent sound quality. At $115 they may sound a bit steep for the casual person but I justified it by getting free shipping on them (effectively shaving $15 off their price).

I haven’t tried hooking them up to my TV yet but I bet for movie nights they’ll make hella good speakers (assuming proper placement). And I can absolutely scare the hell out of anyone on the street or the neighbors downstairs.

If you’re on the fence, buy them! They’ll be well worth it, and even if they only last half as long as my last Altec Lansings (14 years), the cost will be spread across a very long period of time. 115 / (7 years x 365 days) = 4.5 cents a day, for 200 watts of sound. Given our media rich culture and my inability to do anything without music, I’d say money well spent.

“Who would have thought that “affordable” and “THX Certified” would ever be said about the same set of speakers? Logitech makes this happen with the Z-2300 2.1 speaker system.

The 8-inch long-throw sub-woofer with a flared bass port pounds out powerful, distortion-free bass. Polished aluminum phase plug at the center of the driver outperforms conventional 2-way designs projecting superb high-end clarity and rich mid-range tones for balanced sound.

The Sound Touch wired remote control features a headphone jack, master volume control, and volume control for the subwoofer.”

Newegg.com + free shipping = Perfect combination.

I should have these by Monday and I’ll post a review. Given the supposed output and the THX certification, hard to go wrong for $115.

For 1/5th of the wattage you can pay $70, hardly seems fair.
